International Women's Day 2017: BE BOLD FOR CHANGE

BE BOLD FOR CHANGE

What are you doing to mark this year International Women's Day 2017?

International Women's Day (IWD), originally called International Working Women's Day, is celebrated on March 8 every year. The theme for this year 2017 INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY IS BE BOLD FOR CHANGE.

Women are the most vulnerable in the society. We must be bold to change the trend, educating and empowering women is key to economy recovery and prosperity.

Women constitute greater percentage of the unemployed category in our society; so many society ills are challenging the beauty and efficiency of our women.

Women are also the most powerful force in leadership role. Women are Mothers, Sisters, Friends, Daughters, Role Models, Queens, Princess, Doctors, Life giver!!! Mother Earth!!!

We have a lot of women fighting illness (eg cancer), broken homes, poverty, maternal health issues,  we must work together to change these negative trend. We must give women education and empowerment priority! Lifestyle change, and improved healthcare system for maternal health and any other challenges facing women. We must also close the gender disparity gap in leadership role in politics, in military and other important national issues.

Our women must be positively engaged and empowered for a better changed society!

''Investing in women and girls is not only the right thing to do, it’s the smart thing to do. That’s because each action you take to increase a woman’s access to equal opportunities benefits your community, country, and continent.''

According to IWD website, International Women's Day celebrates the social, economic, cultural and political achievement of women.

Yet progress has slowed in many places across the world, so global action is needed to accelerate gender parity. In 2016 leaders across the world pledged to take action as champions of gender parity- not only for International Women's Day, but for every day. Groups and individuals also pledged their support.

For International Women's Day 2017, we're asking you to #BeBoldForChange
