Oluyinka
Olutoye a Nigerian doctor, Co-Director of the Texas Children's
Fetal Center and fetal surgery team member, as well as a general
pediatric surgeon. He has specialized clinical expertise in fetal and
neonatal surgery, with specific interest in congenital diaphragmatic
hernia and complex wounds. In 2016, Dr. Olutoye and his surgeon partner
Dr. Cass of Texas Children's Hospital carried out
a rare operation on a baby at 23 weeks. The baby was removed from her
mother’s womb when they discovered she was suffering from a tumor known
as sacrococcygeal teratoma. The operation was successfully carried out
and the baby was returned to the mother’s womb. Amazingly, the baby
healed and continued to grow until she was born at 36 weeks. culled from US Embassy Nigeria facebook page.
